Hero Alert! Meet Laura Corey, Denver Showroom Manager, designer & mountaineer!

Laura Corey, our new Denver Showroom Manager, has some big goals for the year.

“I want to expand the company’s reach even further into the Denver territory and Colorado region – oh, and I’d like to climb a 14er, too!”

For the uninitiated, that’s a mountain with a summit of over 14,000 feet. Fortunately, living in Colorado, she can take her pick of 50 different peaks.

“I’m really lucky to have landed such a great role in an area with so much opportunity – both work-wise and in being so close to the outdoor activities I love,” she says.

LauraCoreyDenverWhen she’s not making the most of the region’s hiking, camping and climbing offerings, Laura will be helping clients make the most of Linen Hero’s offerings – and our Denver showroom is the perfect setting for it.

“I’ll be doing the ordering, meeting with brides and corporate planners, helping with design, and attending bridal shows to help represent the company,” she says.

It’s a role that ties in perfectly with Laura’s background. Since graduating with a degree in advertising, she’s been working in Fort Collins overseeing marketing and event planning for companies in the salon and spa industry.

“Because of that I have a lot of experience in bridal and events, but within a totally different avenue of the industry. I know how important it is to be incredibly organized and on top of things!”

Laura found out about the role by happy circumstances: her cousin Jackie Blair, our star in-house photographer, read about the opening and suggested that Laura apply.

“Everything about it sounded great, and everyone from the company I spoke to was really nice – and so passionate about their work. It’s a strong company to work for, and I’m excited about having the capability to help it grow – and expand my own skills as well.”

Needless to say, Laura has a pretty impressive skill set she can call upon.

“I minored in art and design and photography in college, and I’m already finding that having a trained eye and a creative mind-set is really helpful with some of the work that we do, like showroom design and helping with the styling of our clients’ events.”

And communicating clients’ needs through design is something she has plenty of experience with.

Laura runs a freelance advertising and graphic design business in her spare time – and she’s always loved creating invitations and stationery for weddings, galas and bridal showers.

Now she has the opportunity to bring her keen flair for design over to linens, and she’s thoroughly relishing every moment.

“We have a huge array of linens and fabrics. It’s amazing how the different patterns, colors and textures can appear so avant garde on their own, but then come together beautifully to create a unique, polished look,” she says.

“I’m excited about getting creative and experimental when we redesign the showroom for each season – and showing just how much we have to offer our clients.”

After all, our linens may not quite reach 14er status when piled up, but we think it’s fair to say that we have a mountain of options at hand!
