Meet Alex Faultersack, the graphic designer who loves logos – and lyrics.

“They were looking for someone with a bit of attitude,” says graphic designer Alex Faultersack, explaining how he landed his new role with the Chair Covers & Linens house team.

“I knew right away it was a great fit. It’s such a high-energy company with so much going on – and a willingness to let me help instill my own personal design sense into that identity.”

Alex’s days have been wide-ranging and fast-paced since he started, with his assignments covering everything from swatches to email signatures to video production.

“In my first week I was scheduled to be doing some web work, 2016.06.22_CCL_Headshots_alex_Faultersack_2_forwebbut we ended up crafting a 12’ tall print design of a monument for a post-prom event. There’s so much going on – and it’s so varied as well.”

Alex describes himself as a well-rounded designer with a specialization in branding and logo work.

“I love everything that goes into it – the mentality, the structure, the people the work speaks for. Linen Hero has such a strong brand, and I’m excited about building it with elements that are a little edgy and that stand out.”

Alex is a newcomer to Detroit, having arrived recently with his girlfriend, their duo of cats, and a free-roaming bunny.

And he’s excited to see what the city has to offer in terms of his other passion – hip hop.

“I got into it at school, and since then I’ve been doing shows all over Grand Rapids and West Michigan. There’s so much opportunity for me here in Detroit, too. I really like to do my own thing, to make something different that will stand out from the crowd – I want people to enjoy what I create.”

2016.06.22_CCL_Headshots_alex_Faultersack_1_forwebIt’s an ethos he applies equally to his music and his design work: creativity is something he loves to see channelled in a positive way – and he relishes the idea of being part of something bigger.

“I really enjoy being a team player, and at the end of the day being able to say that I helped make it happen,” he says.

One of the eye-opening things about working at Linen Hero has been seeing how much of an impact the team can make on someone’s special day.

“It’s the biggest scale I’ve ever worked on – we’re outfitting all sorts of events and ceremonies throughout the country, and it’s really gratifying to contribute to that.”
